Managing Principal, Portfolio Manager
Peter Chang manages the firm’s loan and investment portfolio and leads its investment mandate. Peter began his career as a financial consultant and real estate appraiser at Arthur Andersen and worked as an investment banker in the real estate group at Merrill Lynch and Insignia Financial. He has a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Kamau Coleman started as a consultant at PwC and later worked at RedPoint Ventures in Los Angeles. Kamau transitioned to real estate finance, joining one of the most well-established mortgage brokers in Southern California, specializing in bridge loans nationally. He has a BSEE from Cal Poly Pomona and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Todd Janus has worked as a credit analyst for MJX Asset Management, a New York CDO manager, and as a loan underwriter for VEDC, a Los Angeles non–profit small business lender. Todd has a BS from Boston College and completed credit training programs at New York University.

Principal, Investor Relations
Brent Bottelsen has been a leader in many aspects of real estate. He was a top producing broker for many years in sales and leasing and has also developed and managed large projects in Santa Barbara County. Brent attended Antioch University.

Joseph Sprague has worked extensively in private banking and wealth management. Joe started at Morgan Stanley and WM Financial, WaMu’s private bank. Most recently, he was at Wells Fargo. He has a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
Vice President, Investor Administration
Dave Park started his career as a wealth manager at WaMu’s private bank, WM Financial. Prior to, Dave worked in middle market investment banking at KPMG Corporate Finance and Redwood Securities. He received his BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Chief Operating Officer
Paul Diamond worked in investment management consulting at J. William Taylor & Associates in London. He also worked at Mapleton Investments, a Los Angeles family office and has directly managed a variety of private-equity backed companies. Paul has a BA from Colby College and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Hugeng Shieh was an auditor at Arthur Andersen and at Stanislawski & Harrison. Prior to, Hugeng was the assistant controller at the multi-property Los Angeles Jewish Home For The Aging. He is a CPA and holds a BS from Trisakti University, Jakarta and an MBA from California State University, Los Angeles.
Manager, Loan Servicing
Kathy Kim has been involved in loan servicing and collection since the firm’s inception. Prior to, she managed administration and operations for a boutique, corporate finance advisory firm and was also operations manager for a billing and collections healthcare company. Kathy has a BA from California State University, Long Beach.
